I like fruit. I don't like Halloween!

Tonight: watching old gory movies (Street Trash, Friday the 13th), playing with the new 4-week old black Pomeranian (gothpom) and going to sleep early.

my hair is black and it's so cool!!!

"Soft black"

Every time I dye my hair dark I don't feel any different, likely because I was a Jewish baby with a head of black curls.

I was also quite an accomplished painter as a child. The above painting is acrylic on canvas and pretty large scale, a few feet in each direction. I haven't painted much since then.

Hopefully I can use the black hair to harness a bit of that today, cause I'm straight painting all day, no pencils allowed.

It's raining today but not too wet and not cold either! Between errands I went to a show of children's book illustration called The Original Art at the Society of Illustrators. If you're in New York you should really go; it's small, free, and there's so much great work. I looked up a couple of my favorites:

Taylor will be here on Tuesday! For good! Things that have separated us before: high school, Utah, Los Angeles. Things that will no longer separate us: coasts.

The sweater we called the Jeremy Scott sweater but really it was Generra.

Yesterday was dramatic, today is ok

I would like to recapture that freshness of vision which is characteristic of extreme youth when all the world is new to it.

What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.

A door is sometimes a wall, sometimes a hole.

Today I'm working at 5 in 1 and looking at Mario Hugo and the Dossier Journal blog.

There is too much to see and too much I want to do. Can I just draw circles for awhile?

can we just print this all over a cotton jersey oversized tshirt dress and call it the "rock cluster dress" and sell it for $189. and then wear it with our ld tuttle boots and mary meyer totes. I would be wearing that tonight if it was a possibility.

P.S.

My roommate Yoon Eom just started a blog for thesis research & stuff (Parsons Communication Design '10 dude). Can we talk about this post? I'd "reblog" it tumblr style but you can see that picture 3 posts down. But listen to the song!!!!!

Fuck me like fried potatoes
on the most beautifully hungry
morning of my God-damn life.

Rocks

The playlist in our apartment includes a couple songs by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Empire State by Jay-Z, Run this Town by Jay-Z Riri Kanye, most of the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack. And then put that on repeat since last Thursday and it's been the best 4-5 days since Taylor was here but now I'm tired because it's over and dreams of squash/gemstone goldfish kept me up.

Bad lighting. I live in an East Village cave.

"The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things:

Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--

And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

Hansel and Gretel

Scratchboard Hansel and Gretel dolls on rigid enough paper to hold and move around and play with. They're fun.
