I'm hosting a sketchbook workshop with
Knot & Bow this Monday, Aug. 26 at their new Brooklyn HQ. There are still spots left, so if you're in NYC, buy tickets
here - it will be fun! Each guest gets a ton of supplies for keeps, including my favorite binderboard sketchbook that I talked about
back here.
Hope to see you there!
Leah, random question here but sketch-book related...can you give some tips on your set-up for painting out of the studio? Do you use travel watercolor sets, etc? Think I saw some brush pens in an earlier post...
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi Shayna! I'm not very good at on-the-go tbh, I really like to have my whole set up with me. One thing I do though is skip the paints and just use the paint that's already stuck to the palette. I don't use a travel watercolor set, but it's the same sort of idea.
DeleteAnother thing you can do is get water brushes where the back fills with water and you can squirt it out while you paint, so it eliminates needing a cup of water, at least a little bit. You still need to rinse your brushes somewhere. There's also always brush pens or other pens & painting things in later on when you're back in the studio.
Hope this helps! xx
Hi Leah, love your work! Just saw that I missed the workshop. Will you be hosting another one in the near future?
ReplyDeletethanks so much! I don't think we are for now - Knot & Bow just started the workshop series so they have other events planned, but maybe in the future! xo
